To prevent the mils from being ruined by the chemicals in the earth when planting bulbs or performing any other gardening task which necessitates tho use of bare hands or a thin glove, coat the finger tips with vaseline and then soft soap. If the nails are worn long rub the tips into a piece of soap before using the vaseline. After work in the garden is done, wipe off all the soil from the hands with a dry cloth before washing them in warm soapy water, to which a drop of olive oil has been added. Should the hands be already the worse for wear, they should be given olivo oil treatment. This consists of soaking the hands in warm olivo oil for 10 minutes at a time every day for several days and applying a coating of oil before retiring at night.
