Southern Cross at Wanganui
SMOOTH CROSSING FROM HASTINGS Per Press Association WANGANUI, Last Night. Tho flight of tho Southern Cross from Hastings to Wanganui this morning occupied 70 minutes. Tho machine was delayed at the start owing to weather conditions, but the trip across the island was smooth. There were ideal conditions for the landing of the aeroplane, which glided into tho Wanganui airport watched by several thousand people, who were also assembled for the motor boat regatta. After a welcome by the Mayor, air. N. G. Armstrong, Mr. H. M. Kecsing, on behalf of the returned soldiers, and Mr. A. S. Burgess, president of the Aero Club, Smithy was not long in getting to business, and the Southern Cross made numerous flights over the city.
