Anniversary Day Sports

GOOD PROGRAMME FOR SPORTSGROUND TO-DAX

The Anniversary Day Sports meeting to bo held at the Sportground today promises to be one of tho most successful athletic fixtures ever held in the district. The entries for the various events arc well up to expectations and patrons can rest assured that they will enjoy some interesting sport. The programme, which is timed to start at 10 a.m., will bo run under tho rules, of tho N.Z.A.A.A., and the proceeds will go to the Mayor’s relief fund. The charges of admission to the ground are very reasonable and adults will be required to pay only 9d and children (14 to 16 years) 3d. Children under ,14 will be admitted free. Refreshments can bo obtained at the grounds. In addition to cycling and. other athletic events, there will be blindfold races; children’s events, a baby show, Highland dancing, a model aeroplane competition and sheep weight guessing.
