HELPFUL ADVICE FOR THE PLAIN WOMAN
Arc your eyes set too closely together, is your nose a trifle too long, your mouth too largo, your forehead a thought too high? If so do not attempt to conceal these facts—emphasise them! These reassuring beauty hints come from Baroness Tamara Stoinlieiil, now affiliated with Antoine, the famous French boauty expert. “The secret of the Frenchwomen's superiority is—they are not afraid of ugliness,” sho said in a recent interview. They emphasise it, and in doing so achievo individuality. "A Greta Garbo bob, plucked eyebrows and bangs are all very well, if you aro the type, but if you are not, why try to be? “Women should emphasise features that are perhaps not so attractive, for they aro characteristic of them, and express their individuality. Real beauty lies iin character and vivacity. “France’s most beautiful women in the theatro and the arts have not ’been beautiful—most of them have been ugly —but they have played up that ugliness, and they are interesting; they are themselves. ” ■All advice on haircuts and make-up given by this baroness caters for this aim of individuality.
