Talented Boys Here

PRESENTING- A BIG REVUE Carrying their own scenery, properties, and an accompanying ten-piece orchestra, as well as a crack band of 30 instrumentalists, the Y.A.L. Boys will present their big revue, “The Sleeping Camp,” at the Opera House to-night, continuing the season on at 8 and on Tuesday with a matinee at 2.30 and at 8 o’clock in the evening. The fame of the Y.A.L. Boys has spread all over the world. Little Charlie Stanton, thle eight-year-old drum-major of the Y.A.L. Boys, is not only the smallest and youngest member of his profession in the world, but he is an accomplished comedian and acrobat, while he conducts the band orchestra. No wonder expert critics have said that Hollywood cannot turn out an equal to Charlie Stanton! Crowds flock to see this little genius. The Y.A.L. Boys were conducted by the late John Philip Sousa, who said: ‘‘lt is the flne'st boys’ band in the world.” The Lord Mayor of Sydney has just written the following to the Hon. Sir Heaton Rhodes, the contents of which will explain themselves: —“It was my very great pleasure to witness the performance which was given by the Young Australia League Boys at the Savoy Theatre. Sydney, and I was certainly amazed at the versatility which was displayed throughout the whole production. One could, perhaps, be pardoned- for lack of desire to listen to a band composed of a number of juniors but, to. my mind, the performance was unsurpassed in our city for sheer musical ability. I .understand these lads will make-a tour of New Zealand shortly, where .performances will be given in aid of hospitals and. relief funds, and-. I (can - assure the .people of New Zealand that in attending the performance presented by the boys they will not only be helping a good cause but they will get entertainment value gfluk to

adult performance.” The box plan is now open at the Central Booking Office, where seats may be reserved. On Sunday the boys _ will attend Divine, service at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian church. To-night at 7 o’clock His Worship the Mayor will receive the boys at the band rotunda in the Square and welcome them to Palmerston North, i The concert in the Opera House
