From Our Own Correspondent. In view of her approaching marriage, Miss K. Marchaut was tendered a kitchen tea at tho hall on Saturday night. Mr. A. Nichols, on behalf of the residents of the . district, presented tho many useful and appropriate gifts and expressed congratulations to the guest of honour. Mr. A. Jamieson, on behalf of the Eifle Club, presented Miss Marchant with a' handsome afternoon tea service, and voiced tho good wishes of the club. Mr. C. Conlan suitably responded. ' Dancing was indulged in for tho rest of the evening, music being supplied by Miss MacKenzie. On Monday evening a special meeting was held to discuss and make arrangements for the breaking-up concert to be held on Friday evening. Those present were 0. Berg (chairman), V. C. Eggers, A. H. Hobbs, E. W. Thompson, W.' Caithness (secretary), J. B. Heiuiftti. TiwatoMtsi-k . Mr,
reported that a good programme of various items had been prepared by tho children. Mr. Hobbs and Mr. Eggers were appointed door-keepers. Messrs. Caithness, Thompson and Hobbs to see to transport arrangements. . The subscription lists amount to about £7 and tho purchaso of prizes was loft in the hands of Mr. Bennett. It is hoped to present proficioncy certificates during tho evening.
