The anmjal exhibition of etchings, water colours, portraits, etc., by the Palmerston North artist, Miss E. J. Dorothy Turner, which is being held this year in Bryant’s buildings, is attracting considerable attention. Miss Turner has many delightful new examples of her work. Of particular interest are a number of child studies in pastel and water colour, tho artist displaying unusual insight in tho interpretation of tho subtleties of child character. Among tho new water colours of district interest is a strongly drawn study of the new Gorge bridge with a peep of the brilliant foliage framed in ono of the handsome arches. The etchings this year include some striking studies of well-known citizens, while there are also ono or two delightful portraits in charcoal, of w'hich medium Miss Turner is a facile exponent. The exhibition will bo open until Saturday evening.
