Entertainment by Convent Schools
The annual entertainment to be given by the Convent schools of Palmerston North in the Opera House on Wednesday evening promises to be right up to the standard of past performances which have made sucli an enviable name for those concerned. A glance at the programme appended will give an indication of the excellent fare provided:—“Grand Old Duke of York,” band (small boys), flower dances (infant girls); song and minuet, girls; playette, “Cinderella”; Gypsy song and Spanish dance; Gnome Land; “The Dress Rehearsal” (comedy); “The Dying Bee's Advice”; Maori scene and song, haka, “E Pari Ra,” “Hoea Ha”; “Toymaker's Dream” (playette); Irish Jig; “Darby and Joan” (playette); “Jones Alinor's Recitation”'(comedy); “The Alasterpiece,” tableau song and dance; “Threo Old Alaids of Lee”; rociation; Christmas Tableau.
