Feilding Stock Sale
MARKET DRAGS WITH LOWER PRIDES Prices ruling at the Eeilding stock sale yesterday were far from encouraging and in some sections vendors were unable to accept the bids offered. Mutton was dceidedly lower, while spring lamb did not realise beyond 11s 9tl. Beef was also sold on a lower basis, the highest price failing to reach. £4. Interest in store cattle centred largely on yearling heifers which sold according to quality. Many steers were passed as the bids failed to reach vendors reserves which in view of all tho circumstances were a little on the high side. Store sheep wero in short supply and sold at late rates. The dairy market was not quite so busy and prices were lower all round. Tho following are tho quotations: — Eat sheep: Hoggets, 9s 2d to 10s; lambs, 11s 2d to 11s Dd; ewes, 4s 9d, 4s lOd, ss, 5s 6d, 5s 7d, 5s 9d, 6s to 6s Id; wethers, 9s 7d to 10s; maiden ewes, 7s to 11s 6d. Eat cattle: Heifers, £2 14s, £2 15s, £2 16s, £2 17s, £2 18s, £3, £3 2s ud, £3 8s 6d to £3 12s; bullocks, £3 18s; cows, 30s, 335, £2 ss, £2 10s, £2 13s, £2 15s, £2 19s, £3, £3 Is, £3 5s to £3 9s. Storo sheep: 2-th wethers, 8s to 8s 9d; ewes and lambs, 9s, 15s to 15s fed; 2-th owes, 9s; mixed woolly hoggets, 11s 4d; b.f. 2-ths, 7s 9d; empty ewes, 4s 2d.
