No Artificial Boost for Wool
MR. S. M. BRUCE’S ASSURANCE United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. Received Thursday, 10.30 p.m. LONDON, Nov. 17. Mr. Stanley Bruce, Australian Minister in London, is visiting Bradford. Speaking at a luncheon given by the Federation of British Industries, he gave an assurance that no foolish action would bo taken by Australia on tho Commonwealth Wool Committee’s report. Tho Government would not be a party to any wild schemes of creating an artificial position and excessiveprices, which would eventually react on Australia. Ho also emphasised that the tariff policy was solely due to financial, not fiscal conditions, and tho necessity of meeting external obligations.
