From Our Own Correspondent. Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Lockett returned early in the week from their annual holidays which were spent with Mrs. Lockett’s mother, Mrs. Svcnson, Waipukurau. The holders of the Brighton Ferns of the Shannon Croquet CiuL>, Mesdanies Picard and Bovis, retained them in a challenge from Mesdames Morgan and Moynihan, by 20 to 24. On November 23, the Shannon Croquet and Bowling Clubs are holding a combined gala day'. Invitations have been issued to the neighbouring clubs. In tho progressive pairs tournament of the Shannon Bowling Club Mr. «t. Aim won the skips and Messrs Terry, Hemmingsen and K. Hook won three games' each for the leads. In the Tennis Club Mrs. Mark defeated Bobinson 7 —3 on the senior ladder. On Saturday' the second senes of tho association matches will be played at Shannon against Levin. For the junior pins, Miss J. oßvis and B. Harris defeated Miss J. Grey and McMeeking by 40 to 33.
