Feilding Orchestral Society
FORTHCOMING CONCERT Now that the summer season is here and the days are getting longer, musicians will soon bo putting aside their instruments to find recreation out of doors, and the Feilding Orchestra members will be no exception. As a grand finale before closing down for the vacation period the orchestra promises a tip-top programme on November 22 at tho Majestic Theatre. The pieces arc all by good composers, tuneful and likeable, and it is to be hoped that the citizens will realise that in this orchestra Fcilding possesses • something of a high musical value and that these works can be played fo.r their entertainment, and will show their appreciation by going to this concert. After all, what is better than an orchestral There is no other combination that can give the tone colouring to music. One of the best-known items is a selection from “The Geisha.” Other good things ou the programme are vocal items by Mrs. Campion (mezzo-soprano), of Wanganui, whoso exquisite renditions at the society’s second concert in May, 1931, will be remembered by patrons of that entertainment. The society is honoured by the assistance which Mrs. Campion is again giving, and Feilding people will be -well advised to attend, as it is on rare occasions that a voice of such undoubted quality is heard.
