Private Conference Of Political Parties PROPOSALS PUT TO CABINET Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Last Night. A private conference was held to-day between members of Cabinet and over 20 members of the Reform and United parties for the purpose of discussing urgent problems being faced by the primary producers. The meeting was arranged at the instigation of the private members, several of whom expressed concern at the present position of the primary industry which it is asserted would have to be strengthened if the farmers were 1 to come through the coming export season without getting into serious difficulties. Several proposals were made to Cabinet and these were considered at some length, sympathetic replies being given by Messrs. Forbes and Coates who said the Government were fully seized of the seriousness of the position.
