Building Additional Ships For the British Navy

ANY MOMENT United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. Received Friday, 9.15 p.m. LONDON, July 22. The Daily Telegraph’s naval expert learns that for 22 new ships under the British Navy’s 1932 programme may be placed at any moment. Two cruisers, two sloops, one submarine and one torpedo school tender will be built at the Royal dockyards and the remainder on the Clyde, on the Tyne and elsewhere.
it is expected that work valued at £9,600,000 will he provided in the autumn, benefiting thousands of men. Another large batch of contracts will be placed in March, representing the 1933 programme.
