Pint of Milk a Day
When opening the City of Bradford Co-operative Society’s new diary in. Bradford, lately Mr. Arthur Greenwood, Minister of Health in the last Labour Government, urged women to make their husbands drink more milk. “I should not like to live entirely on milk myself,” Sir Arthur told & large gathering of co-operators, "but I believe in it. It is part of my daily sustenance. At home or away from home, I drink it—my wife makes me. I drink at least a pint of milk every day, and I should like to see all the people of this country do the same;” “We cannot control the sources of supply at the farms scattered hundreds of miles away from the big centres of population,” said Dr Buchan, “and ensure that there the milk is cleanly got from healthy animals, nor can we we be sure that from the farms the milk comes under clean and pure conditions. We are moving along the road toward that end, but only at a slow pace. ’'
