Relics of Ancient Mexico

Treasure buried centuries ago, rivalling in riches the relics in the tomb of Tutankh-Amen in Egypt, have been unearthed by Alfonso A. Case, Mexican Government archaeologist. Amid the ruins of Monte Alban, a mountain fortress in the highlands of southern Mexico, G'aso discovered the scorer burial vault of six ancient Indian war lords, their crumbling skeletons literally covered with a wealth of gold and jewelled ornaments. Experts pronounce the find worth many thousands of dollars, and the greatest of its kind ever made on the American continent. But its monetary value tells only a small part of the story. Its real significance lies in the fact that the excavations may help to solve the rise and fall of the halfforgotten Mixtec and Zapotcc peoples that built magnificent mountain cities at the time when William the Conqueror invaded England.
