Y.W.C.A. Holds Blue Triangle Day

GOOD SUPPORT PROM PUBLIC • } * An eminently successful drive for '■«, funds was made on Saturday on behalf «of thet Palmerston North YW.C.A., in -*all £llß 17/4 being raised. The campaign was ably directed by Mrs. H. Sinclair ((president of the local organi- ” sation) and Miss Jean Stevenson (national general secretary for the Y.W.C.A.). Tho Rotary Club gave willing co-operation, and Messrs. W. G. piack (president) and A. J. Phillipps were prominently associated with the drive for funds. Badge sellers who made a systematic canvass met with a very gratifying response, and a largo number of winning helpers gave enthusiastic services. Thirty Girl Citizens carried out keenly their allotted duties. Valuable assistance was given by Mesdames L. A. Abraham, M. ■ Aitchison, L. B. Wall; Bristow, A. \ Oliver and Clare; also uisses Skarman, Mouldey, Cater, Fannin, Wall, Black, P. Abraham, Billens, Nathan, Barpett, Rogers, French, Trask, Petersen, Cadle, Walkley, Purton, Peters, Ridley, MacDonald, Woodward, Thompson, Oakley, Beattie and others. ' Refreshments for the workers were ;under the supervision of Mrs. W. J. Phillips. Competitions were help and a general street stall was conducted by Mesdames H. Griggs T. B. Arlidge, W. Mouldey, Bierre and Oliver. The competitions were won as follow: —Cake, Mrs. W. Boon, 'Queen street; doll’s cradle, "E.S.” Napier.
