lieutenant W. H. Summerise, of the Duke of Wellington’s regiment, competing against the South London harriers, won the 100 yards in 9 7-10 secs., equalling Liddell’s British amateur record. L. E. Hobbs, a son of tho famous cricketer, was second, beaten by three yards.
