Police Seek Murderer Of ’Frisco Racketeer
EFFORT TO CHECK GANG WARFARE MENACE. Now York Times Broadcast. SAN FRANCISCO, May 19. Five North Beach characters were arrested to-day for questioning in the murder of Luigi Malvcsc, asserted Mafia extortion thug and racketeer, as the police began a city-wide drive to pick up all known racketeers and check the menace of widespread gang waifare. Malvcsc was "put on the spot on Wednesday in front of a Columbus avenue barber shop by a gunman who fired shot after shot into his twitching body as he lav on the sidewalk.
