At Foxton yesterday four properties were offered for salo by auction by the Foxton Borough Council under the Rating Act, 1925, by the Empire Auctioneering Co. Three of the properties were bought in by the borough and the one offered comprising six acres was sold after interesting competition. Miss E. Janies, who is making a walking tour from North Capo to Bluff, raised a laugh at a reception at Geraldine recently, says the Timaru Herald.
