Mr. Read, who has been a prominent member of the Fcilding Old Boys' football team for several seasons, will play his last game for the club to-day. On behalf of the .Scouts, the troop leader, W. Collins, presented Mr. Hitchcock with a silver pencil and thanked him for all ho had done for the troop. Lt.-Colonel C. E. Sandlc, the chairman, made the presentation on behalf of the committee/ stressing the wonderful progress the troop had made since Mr. Hitchcock took control. The retiring scoutmaster briefly responded, and urged the boys to be loyal to their new scoutmaster, Mr. a. M. Stevenson, who was then handed the control of the troop. The new assistant, Mr. McShane, was introduced to the scouts and three cheers were given for Mr. Hitchcock at the call of the troop leader.
