WOMEN’S UNION CONFERENCE. On Thursday, at tho Feilding Methodist Church a district convention of the Methodist Women’s Missionary Union was held, visitors being present from Palmerston North, Woodville, Pahiatun, Ashhurst, Bunnythorpe, .Sanson, Rongotea and Waituna West. The morning session was opened by a devotional service conducted by the Rev. L. Copeland, after which tho visitors were cordially welcomed by Mrs. J. Darragh, president of tho Feilding Auxiliary. Study circles wero then formed and a very profitable time was spent in considering the subject of home life. Additional visitors were present at the afternoon gathering, a special welcome being given women missionary workers from other Feilding Churches. Following a communion service, very interesting and informative addresses on mission work in tho Solomon Islands were given by the Rev. A. N. Scotter, 8.A., of Palmerston North, and the Rev. Frank Hayman, at present on furlough from the mission field. Mr. Hayman, who is in charge of tho educational work of tho Methodist Church in tho Solomons, in a very able manner outlined tho systom that is being followed and the results that arc being achieved: Special mention was made of the devoted service rendered by tho young women of New Zealand who are engaged as teachers and nurses among the natives. f Mrs. C. E. Taylor, in a short address, outlined the activities of the Methodist deaconesses amongst the Maori people and of the Training School for Maori girls recently established by tho Missionary Union.

At the close of the session Mrs. H. E. Vaccy, of Palmerston North, voiced the appreciation of the visitors for the splendid arrangements made by the Feilding ladies for the convention, special mention being made of the generous hospitality provided at luncheon and morning and afternoon tea. Tho beautiful way in which tho church had been decorated for tho occasion was typical of the welcome, they as visitors, had received.
