Town Goes Back to Village
A curious sign of the recent hard times is furnished by the German town of Rastenberg, in Thuringia. For seasons of economy it is meditating the unusual step of turning itself back into a village. It is hoped that 'considerable sums will bo saved in this way on the salaries of officials and so on. What the officials think about the innovation is not stated, but there is certainly a “Mikado’’-like touch about the wnoio thing.
