FAT SHEEP FIRMER,

FREEZING INTERESTS BIG BUYERS.

Tho quality of the largo offering of fat sheep at yesterday’s Fcilding stock salo was uniformly good and with the freezing interests again operating on a’ largo scale, prices lirined somewhat on last week’s rates. Better values were obtained for tho small entry of wethers which were better linishcd. Fat cattle woro steady at late rates with little enthusiasm among operators. Alost of the interest iu the store sheep was concentrated upon 2-tooth wethers and wetlier Jambs, for which there was good competition. Breeding ewes were easier and failed to realise vendors’ reserves when offered so were passed in. Some sales afterwards took place privately. There was no change in the store cattle market, while in tho dairy section close to profit cows sold readily.
