Two Men Seriously Hurt in Car Smash
COLLISION SPLITS POWER POLE Per Press Association. NEW PLYMOUTH, Last Night. Archibald W. Bawles and F. Locke, both of Waitara, received serious head injuries to-night when ltawles’ ear left tho road and crashed into an electric light pule m Now Plymouth. The force of the impact split the stout polo half way up, and plunged the district into darkness. The car left the road after crossing the Waiwakaiho bridge. It missed one polo and the rear struck the next. The car jumped towards tho roadway, landed on its nose, somersaulted and slewed round. Tho hospital reported that both men had head injuries and that their condition was fairly critical.
