Crashed Through a Skylight
MR. 11. B. TREE'S SON SERIOUSLY HURT Per Press Association. MASTERTON, Last Night. Crashing through a skylight in Hugo and Shearer’s building in Queen street this afternoon, a youth of IS J years, Ivan Free, only son of Mr. and Mrs. H. B. Free, of Palmerston North, fell 30 feet to the ground floor in the showroom. He received a broken wrist, concussion and cuts, and was admitted to the hospital in a somewhat serious condition.
Mr. and Mrs. Freo were informed of tho accident to their son late yesterday afternoon and immediately motored to Mastcrton, where they' discovered that although Ivan was seriously hurt, he had really had a remarkable escape from death. He was working on the roof, applying a special preparation for the firm by which lie is employed, and by some unknown means lost his balance and crashed through the skylight to the ground floor. First aid was rendered by a member of the staff and ho was removed to the Mastcrton hospital in the ambulance. The many friends of Mr. and Mrs. Free will sympathise with them in this unfortunate occurrence and hope for their son’s speedy rccov cry'.
