Sluggish River Board
MONTHLY MEETING. Tho monthly meeting of tho Sluggish River Drainage Board was held yesterday, Mr F. J. Foster presiding. Also present were Messrs Ryan, Print, Morcom and Lancaster. The overseer, Mr. W. Locke, stated in his report that work was being continued in No. 3 portion of the Main Drain, with tho deepening up to date of 24 chains being completed. No. 1 portion was finished and No. 2 and No. 3 portions wore making good progress. The concrete sills by the Taikoroa bridge wore finished. No. 1 pom tion of Taikorea Drain, No. 2 portion of Cooper and Greenaway’s and No. 2 drains wero completed. Tho average daily number of No. 5 sehemo men employed last week was 75. There was every likelihood that the Minin Drain work would bo finished by the next board meeting. —Adopted. It was decided to peg the Main Drain, No. 2 Drain and part of Cooper and Greenaway’s Drain.
