All Saints’ Church Finances
TRIBUTE TO MR. N. G. BAGNALL. In his report to the annual meeting of parishioners of All Saints’ Church ou Tuesday evening Canon Woodward said the financial burden of the year, which had been made more severe by tho prolonged world-wide depression, had fallen on the shoulders of Mr. H. G. Bagnall. From a financial point of view the year just passed had been the most trying for many years, for the sources of income had been dried up by heavy taxation. The genius of man lay in attaining the impossible, and two months ago it seemed that they must show a debit balance. Yet in face of this, Mr. Bagnall had presented a balanco sheet with a credit balance. “I do not profess to explain nis genius,” tho Canon said, “and especially in finance, but what I do know is, that we are most fortunate in having Mr. Bagnall as people’s warden. u feel that I am' voicing the unanimous opinion of the whole parish when I tell him that he has our deepest and heartfelt gratitude for his splendid achievemcn on our behalf, and that wo appreciate to the fullest his many hours of labour for the temporal needs of this parish.’ ’
