HIGH PRAISE FOR 2ZO From Our Own Correspondent. ' On Monday afternoon, Mr. A. E. Gibbs (Chief Telegraph Engineer of tho Post and Telegraph Department) and Dr. M. A. Barnett (of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research), Broadcast Commissioners, visited Eoxton for tho. purpose of meeting local Tadio listeners and securing- information regarding reception of the YA stations in Foxton during the different seasons of tho year. A small deputation met the visitors at the post office, where they were introduced by the Postmaster (Mr. MeKenzic.) ... In stating tlie object of their visit, Mr. Gibbs said that they _ were particularly desirous of obtaining information in regard to local reception in all districts in order that a _ comprehensive scheme might be devised fo r the improvement of broadcast reception throughout tho Dominion. Mr. J. Martin, on behalf of tho deputation, submitted a detailed statement of reception from each of the YA stations throughout the year,. together with certain recommendations. The matter of B class stations was also discussed, and in reply to. a question the deputation were unanimous in their support of tho Palmerston North station 2ZO, which they considered easily the best station, in this part of the district. Before departing, Mr. Gibbs expressed his appreciation of the manner in ivhicli tho evidence h"ad been tendered and intimated that somo useful data had been obtained.
