Illegal Use of Royal Arms
A REMINDER FROM GOVERNMENT HOUSE Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Lust Night. An announcement from Government House says that tho use of a representation of the royal arms in advertisements by societies, institutions or other bodies of which their Excellencies the Governor-General and Lady Bledisloe (or either of them) are patrons, or in connection with public announcements of a grant of patronage to or in the presence of their Excellencies at concerts or other similar functions is not only irregular but also illegal, and in cases where the practice still exists it should therefore be discontinued. A similar prohibition is applicable to advertisements in trade literaturo and displays on the premises of tradesmen, hotel proprietors and others who now supply or have previously supplied goods or services to the Governor-Gen-eral or to his predecessors in office.
