CREDIT BALANCE OF £2848 At yesterday’s.meeting of the Kiwitea County Council the chairman (Cr. L. T. McLean made a statement in connection with the county finances, which were revealed to bo in a healthy condition. The statement is as follows: — “Commencing with a credit balance of £1705 on April 1, 1931, the county fund account finished with a credit balance of £2848, a gain of £IOS2 11/7. The receipts in the county fund account amounted to £20,875 15/5, and tho expenditure to £19,793 2/10. The receipts from all sources amounted to £24,259 16/10, and tho expenditure to £23,0G8 10/. Tho position of tho. riding accounts is as follows: Cheltenham, cr. £254 '5/11; Kiwitca, cr. £525 15/10; Waituna, cr. £287 5/11; Ongo, cr. £llO 11/4; Kimbolton, cr. £123 14/G; Peep o’ Day, cr. £2IG .16/5; Pakihikura, cr. '£322 4/; Rangiwahia, cr. £328 7/S; Hau-j tapu, dr. £.17 5/6. “Other accounts in credit aro: Contractors’ deposits, £1 7/6; Government grant (subsidy on rates), balance £29 10/3; Kimbolton cemetery, £24 1/4: Kimbolton hall, £4B 1/; heavy traffic license fees, £3O 3/6; Rangiwahia cemetery, £.14 19/3; Waituna cemetery, £ll 17/il; land fund, £470 7/3; Vinegar Hill bridge loan, £69 4/4; employees’ accommodation loan, £726 9/11; Haycock’s bridge, £176 14/11; interest., £353 16/3.”
