District Lamb Competition

MANAWATU A. AND P. ASSOCIATION’S SUGGESTIONS. A reply to the Manawatu A. and T. Association’s inquiry as to the New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board’s views on tho question of whether the district competition in export lamb should be run at, or in conjunction with the spring show, was received at a meeting yesterday of tho association’s general committee. Tho matter, the Meat Board advised, had been discussed and there was no objection to offer to the proposal, as far as the board was concerned; in fact, the matter was in the hands of the district concerned, as the board’s rules simply require- 1 that the lambs should bo killed not later than a named date. The board did, however, attach great importance to the suggestion contained in rule 32 in regard to organising a field day at tlte works on the day on which the lambs wero killed. "When tho full results of the London judging came to hand by mail, the board intended to go carefully through tho rules in the light of the experience gained in the first year of the competition, with a view to, if necessary, circulating an amended set of rules to tho various A. and P. Associations in ample time for next year’s competition. The. advice was received without comment.
