D. W. Griffith’s “Struggle” Not Propaganda Film
The rumour that D. W. Griffith's forthcoming production, "Struggle,” is a propaganda picture has been effectively exploded by the producer himself. lie granted that the title may have induced such a conclusion, but gave his definite assurance that the offering would see tho screen in the light of a modern story of everyday life. "Struggle” is au original by John Emerson and Anita Loos, with Hal Skelly and Zita Johann in tho leading roles. Both aro prominent New York top-liners with big records behind them. "Struggle” is listed with United Artists’ Twelve Prosperity Productions for release in the coming year.
Eugene Pallette, Paramount-'s rotund comedian, played romantic leads on the stage and in the early days of pictures.
