POLICE JUST MISS MURDER SUSPECT

The man wanted by the police for ;he Liverpool murders had another close call on Friday afternoon, although the fact only became known yesterday. The police apparently went within a hundred yards of where ho was resting or camping in the scrub in the Dumbleton district 12 miles south of the city. A woman liviug in the locality saw a man rise to his feet after the police passed when ho beat a hasty retreat. She thought be was only a casual dosser and failed to report the matter until yesterday.
The police then returned to the spot and made an important discovery. A tweed overcoat was spread on the ground with a chaff bag containing a gun, the stock of which was split and was showing stains like blood. Tncy also found jewels, trinkets, and a girl's watch similar to that worn by Miss Denzel before sho was murdered. There were also two rings, a blood-stained bandage and portions of a rug together with portions of a man's clothing which are thought to bo Wilkinson's.
