Poppy Day Appeal Raises £lßo
PALMERSTON NORTH EFFORT. The Palmerston North Returned Soldiers’ Association is more than satisfied with tho results of Poppy Day appeal which was made on Saturday, a sum of approximately £IBO being raised by tho sale of the emblems. The total does not reach that of last year (£210) but considering the times through which the community is passing, tho response was most generous. There were 125 voluntary helpers engaged, including 15 returned soldiers, and they made a systematic canvass of eight set residential areas. An intense canvass was also made on six different routes in the business area.
