MEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP WON BY PUKLOWSKI. MISS WOHEALI, ANNEXES LADIES’ TITLE. The 'Manawalu Tennis Club brought the various club competitions to finality on Saturday with, the semi-final and final games in the championship and handicap singles. The championship titles were annexed by Mr. A. Puldowski, who beat Mr. M. McKenzie in the final, and by Miss Worrall who defeated Miss Kirk. Tho handicap events were won by Miss G. McKenzie jind Mr. M. McKenzie. Hollowing arc the results:— Ladies’ Handicap Singles. (Quarter-Final.) Mrs. Littlejohn beat Miss Dicdcrich 50—46.
Semi-Finals. Mrs. Littlejohn beat Miss Kirk 51—49. Miss McKenzie beat Miss Worrall 50—39. Final. Miss McKenzie beat Mrs. Littlejohn 50—40. Men’s Handicap Singles. Semi-Finals. A. Puklowski beat E. Elliott GO —53. Mr. McKcnkic beat B. Wilkinson by default. Final. M. McKenzie beat A. Puklowski 60—51. Men’s Championship Singles. Semi-Final. M. McKcnzio beat L. Seifert junr. 6 —5, 6—l. Final. A. Puklowski beat M. McKenzie 6—5, 6—4. Puklowski went through without a single loss and ho still had two lives at the finish. The final was a very even game with many long rallies and all but three games went to deuce, and as the match was decided on a damp court, tho players had had quite enough by the end of the second set. Ladies’ Championship Singles. Final. Miss Worrall beat Atiss Kirk 6 —9. 6—2. Cup Holders
