FROM THE HUB
Dear Cogs, This week we have some -cry nice letters in the page and I feel that we should have a special autumn page as some of our members have waxed eloquent about the beauties of this season. What do you think about the suggestion, family? A number of questions have remained unanswered, because if I tried to answer them all at the foot of your letters we would tako up the whole paper instead of one page. But if I have missed anything important you must just ask again. Addrsses of pen friends are needed. Fairiol please send your proper address, and there is a letter hero waiting to be posted on to “80-pccp. ” Honey Bee. it is always wiser to send in the Skilltest coupon with your name and address, but many of the Cogs write out the answers on separate papers Remember always to write your name and address clearly and then it does not matter.
Dawn, it was a very pleasant surprise to find that lovely box of mushrooms on my tabic early in the week, and Ludo King, your box arrived just at the right moment. Thank you both ever so much. Th 3 have been several complaints lately about the non-arrival of badges, etc. That can only mean that you have not given your proper postal addresses. Just lately some prize money came back through the dead tetter office and when wo checked it up we found that an incorrect address had been given. Please be particular about this, because Auntie Helen does not like' it when tetters come back to the office. Time is up, to say nothing of spac/;. and here is Mr Printcrman. Pots of love, dears, from THE HUB'. Woodville.
Dear Hub—Have not we bad some •wonderful rain, and it will do a power of good. We can almost see things growing—weeds also, 1 think our gut den gets more than its share of weeds, and the}' arc a pest. I went to the picture last week called "The Champ. What a well acted picture it, was, and it was very Teal. I would like to see "Trader Horn" when it comes. Our Tmvs are getting ready for football at school. Hr Puz and Trooper Tex arc having a groat time at each other. Mr Puz caught us all this last week, and it might be the same this week as several questions can have several answers, especially Ho. 11., but one has to trust to luck. I would like to ask Mr Puz a riddle: "What is it that never was and never will be?” If he cannot give the answer I will give it in a few weeks’ time. Love to all the Cogs and yourself from All Black. It is good .for us all to have to try and get the better of those weeds; otherwise we might not have enough to do.
Maltino. Bear Hub,—-My two sisters are putting some prize buffi bantams in the Palinerston North show for young poultry next week. I have not yet given my dolly a name, and Mother suggests that you give her a name. To-day it is raining very heavily and I suppose our tanks must be full. Mr Puzzleman did give us a hard Skilltcst this week, but nevertheless I am sending mine in. My mother is teaching my little sister to read. I must close now and do my work. Best of love to you and all the Cogs, from African Daisy. Please dear, remember to put your Skilltest on separate paper. How would "Marie” or "Patricia" do for dolly?
