Lord Bledisloe Asks For Salary Cut
UNTIL BUDGET IS BALANCED For Press Association. WELLINGTON, Last Night. The Governor-General has notified the Prime Minister of his desire to have the emoluments of his office reduced, including earlier reductions, by an aggregate amount of 30 per cent.,or,expressed alternatively, 45 per cent, of his salary, until such time as the national Budget may be balanced.- Their Excellencies are also agreeable to ono of the official residences being closed if this is thought desirable on the ground o’ economy.
