Monthly Meeting of Plunket Society

At the monthly meeting of the Palmerston North branch of the Plunket Society, held iri the City Council chuiAbers yesterday, Airs. A. Coombs presided over.a small attendance. Others present were Mcsdamcs 11. B. Free, 11, Bennett, J. 11. Whyte, J. 11. Miller, N. Sinclair, 11. Findlay Wilson, C. A. Small. L. 11. Collinson and M. Aitchison (lion, secretary). Apologies for absence vvere received from Mcsdamcs J. Murray, T. F. Rodgers, Fail-brother, A. A. Langley, L. A. Abraham, A. E. Mansford and A. G rigor. Nurse’s Report .

The Plunket nurse’s report for the month of March stated that 200 visits had been paid to homes and that the visits to (lie office totalled 1457 (71G adults, G 35 babies and IOG older children). Twenty-eight eases had been added to the books. Grateful acknowledgment was made of parcels of clothing received from Mcsdamcs Mubin, Bates, Monro, liaise, Bennett rind Wilde. Five visits had been paid to Foxton out-station, the total visits to the office there being 1.7!) (91 adults, 77 babies and 1,1 older children). One new case liad been added to the books.

' Sales for the month, of KariJac, etc., amounted to £43 19/9; membership fees received totalled 30/, and the following donations were gratefully acknowledged: Airs. G. liaise 10/, Airs. L. Graham 5/, Airs. R. J. Munson £2, Airs. Dal/.icl 7/G, and a further amount of 15/2 from the collection box, making the total receipts' for the month £49 12/5. —The report was adopted. The secretary reported that as a result of tho recent garden fete tho funds had benefited to the extent of £24 J7/8. This was considered very satisfactory. Members voiced their appreciation of the valuable assistance rendered by kind supporters towards making the garden fete such a happy function, and hearty votes of thanks were accorded Mr. and. Mrs. L. 11. Collinson for the loan of their grounds, AEcssrs. C. G. Langridgc and Co., the Takaro Church Committee, Alcssrs. Collinson and Cunningliame, Ltd., and all others who had helped with the fete.
