FAMOUS SOLDIER’S SWORD
GIFT TO LAFAYETTE COLLEGE The sword which the Marquis de Lafayette carried during the Revolutionary war finally has found its way to tbe college which bears bis name. The Baroness von Miltitz of Bartzdorf, Germany, presented the weapon to President William Mather Lewis of Lafayette College, Easton, Pa., recently. Lafayette was forced to surrender the rapier to the Prussians when he was captured in 1792, and it lias been in the family of the baroness since that time. The college has a statue of the young French soldier who was of such great help in winning American indpendencc. It has been making a systematic collection of relics associated with his career and has assembled an impressive display-
