MR. THEODORE RUSSELL. Mr. Theodore Russell, whose death occurred on Saturday morning, was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Russell, of Pembroke. He was born in 1575, and educated at tho Pembroke and tho Otago Boys' High Schools. After following various pursuits lie commenced sheep farming, acquiring at an early ago the Cattle Flat station, which ho owned for 12 years. In 1914 Mr. Russell went to reside at Oamaru, purchasing tho Alta Vady estate and other properties. A few years later he leased tho Rcdcastlo homestead and with it. 30 acres of land, interesting himself in a number of racehorses which were privately trained at Bedenstlc by Mr. John Ross. Five years ago the deceased bought a property on tho Taicri Plains, which has sinco been purchased by tho Otago Aero Club for its air port. Mr. Russell was keenly interested jn all forms of sport, being proficient at both golf and lawn tennis, as well as an excellent and enthusiastic doer stalker. For (ho past few years Mr. Bussell’s health had been very poor, and his passing was not unexpected. He leaves a widow, two daughters and a son. Three sisters also survive him —Mrs. Herman Seifert (of Palmerston North), Mrs. Peter McDougal (of Timaru), and Mrs. David McKay (of Dunedin).
