The New Zealand Rugby Union decided at its conference that injured players could be replaced if both captains agreed; also that teams must not leave the held at halt time without the permission of the referee. Lean, referred to the Management Committee’s recommendation that New Zealand should adopt the three-man front row scram and abolish the wing forward. New Zealand was the only country in the world playing a recognised wing forward, and.it was felt that, for the sake of uniformity, New Zealand should take the action proposed.
