ELISSA LANDI IN ’’WICKED” Including as it does excellence of story, excellence of cast, new human touches, and artistic and realistic settings, “Wicked,” the new Fox drama starring Elissa Landi, is a remarkable performance in which the beautiful English actress is seen to advantage. As a young and happy wife, Miss Landi is disillusioned shortly after the honeymoon when the husband she thought an honest bank clerk comes home wounded and dying, a confessed bank robber. In trying to save him from the law she involves herself as an accomplice, is arrested, convicted and sent to prisou. What happens when she is released and socks her baby, the screen play reveals j in a most dramatic way. Another player who acts more convincingly than ever is Victor McLnglcn, who has the leading male role. Other fine portray-
als are given by Una Merkel, the delightful little star from Dixie, Theodore von Eltz and Allan Dinchart. the remainder of the cast, which includes Oscar Apfcl, Irene Rich, Mac Busch, Blanche Payson. Kathleen Kerrigan, Eileen Perce, Alice Lake and Ruth Donnely, arc also deserving of much praise. The final screening will take place of the opening of the Sydney bridge tonight. A matinee will be held at -.30 p.m. to-morrow.
