Bunnythorpe

(From Our Own Correspondent.) School Committee. The monthly meeting of the Bunnythorpo public school committee was hold in tho school on Monday evening, having been delayed a week. Present were Messrs A. A. O'Donnell (acting chairman), 0. Jackson (secretary), R. Sinclair and R. C. Powell, also the hoadmaster, Mr. R. H. Abraham. The headmaster's report showed that the number on tho school roll was 96 as compared with 99 at tho beginning of the year. At the close of last year the roll number was 105. The pupils in tho two upper classes had commenced attending manual training classos at Fcilding this month but it was uncertain whether these classes would be continued for long. Tho mangold plots had been inspected during tho month and tho district nurso had paid a visit to tho school. Tho visiting committee reported that tho grounds, etc., were in first-class order. Messrs R. Sinclair and O. Jackson wore appointed visiting committee for tho ensuing mom,a. Tho secretary reported on tho school excursion to Plimmorston, which was hold last month. It was decided to mako complete the school’s first aid outfit. Various accounts woro passim for payment and minor business transacted.

General. Tho Methodist Church held its harvest thanksgiving services on Sunday. There was an excellent display of fruit, vegetables and produce. On Tuesday evening tho gifts were sold at a sale which took placo in tho Sunday school room, the proceeds going to the church funds. Mrs. H. McConnell, of Auckland, and her son wore the guests of Mrs. McConnell’s sister, Mrs. C. Andorson, “Rchua,” Kairanga road, last week, and left for home on Monday. Miss K. Thomas, of Hastings, milo was staying with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. Thomas, Nanstead’s Line, has returned home. The annual meeting of tho Bunnythorpe Football Club will take placo next Tuesday e\ .ning.
