Mr. H. C. Jenkins, editor of tho Wanganui Chronicle, was a visitor to Palmerston North on Saturday.

Rice, Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Swan (Sydney), Mr. R. Williams (London), Mr. S. H. Cronquest, Mr H. Wakeford, Mr. G. Headman (Inglewood), Mr. G. Blanchett (Napier.)

The death occurred last week of Mr. Edward Walton, aged 59 years, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Walton, who were old residents of Palmerston North. Mr Edward Walton was employed in various offices in tho city and was well-known as a musician, though of a quiet disposition. For seven years deceased resided with Mrs, Melvin Cook and the late Mr. Melvin Cook, of Kairanga, until the estate was sold. Deceased later became ill and despite the attention given him he passed away. Deceased had no relatives in this district, but Mrs Cook was present when he died. Deceased’s sisters arc Mrs. Richards and Mrs. Coles (Nelson), Mrs. Collett and Mrs. Whyte (Wellington), and Miss Kate Walton (Wellington). His brother is Mr. Thomas Walton, of Australia.
