FROM THE HUB

Dear Cogs, It was quite like old times this week to find dozens of answers to the Bkilltost —and such a lot of them were correct, too! But lam afraid Mr Puzzleman may be up to his tricks again. He lets you off one week with a nice easy Skilltest only to pounce on you. the next week and givo you all headaches trying to puzzle things out. It is all so good for you though, and I am sure you all love hunting up words in dictionaries I hopo you don’t all do what one Cog has been accused of doing. His mother told mo that she was always finding scribblings on little piece's of paper all over the place and even on the dictionary and other books. When mother asks the little Cog what all theso mysterious marks a.re, he says, “Oh, that is the Skilltest. I am working it out.” January and February birthdays have. Been missed all because of the holidays, so little Januaries and Februaries will you accept our belated good wishes and * perhaps we shall bo able to squeeze in all three months’ name 3 early in March. Mr Printerman is calling and I daTe not keep him waiting one moment longer. Lots of love, THE HUB. Hote: Please Rae, look for a note in the page that concerns you. Makino. Dea.r Hub, —It seems ages since I last wrote, but nevertheless I have not forgotten you. School has now resumed, and this year I a.m in Form II and intend to work hard to get my proficiency. I nearly forgot to tell you what an enjoyable time I spent at Christmas. Well, to begin with, we all went, to "Wellington, and whilst there I noticed in a window a beautiful and elaborately dressed doll, that was to be raffled for the University Women’s Club, so I took a ticket and then returned home that night, and thought no more about it. Next day we all journeyed to New Plymouth and spent throe glorious weeks at the seaside and only returned back in time to have our new uniforms mado for school. By Thursday night s mail I received a letter congratulating mo on being the holder of tho lucky tic-kot for that doll, so you may imagine my surprise. Now, dear Hub, I will conclude wishing you and the happy band good luck for 1932, African Daisy. Your holiday was certainly a most exciting ono and I am sure you must be delighted to be the possessor of that lovely doll. You must toll us all about her. Thank you for your good wishes and write again soon. Apiti. Dear Hub,—Just a few linos to send in with the Skilltest, which I hope is right. I went away to Awahuri for my holidays, and I was so mu Oh taken up with other things that I quite forgot to write. The weather has been unsettled tho greater part of the week, but it is a bit. better to-day. A circu3 was held here last night and it was very good, but the night was not very promising. Well, as time is getting short I must close with love to yourself and all the Cogs, from Frank. I know that my Cogs are busily engaged when I don’t receive any letters, but write again soon, won’t you)
