Debutante Stakes There is a very good field in the first two-year-old race of the season, and some very classy youngsters will go to the post for the 41-furlong scamper. The candidates which showed up in the parade on Thursday were Rulanut, Merry Euler and Posy in the first division, and Genesta in the second. Taking the parado as a guide, the Kcmball bracket (Rulanut-Posy) and Genesta will not lack for friends to-day. Moarangi is top-weight and he was unlucky to have been interfered with in Thursday’s race. Three that will make appeal to-day are Coon Song, Winnagan and Mocrangi, Spring Hack Handicap Impetuous is at the head of the handicap in the Spring Hack and may make a better showing to-day. The same may apply to Chief Cook, Curie, Childstudy, Furlong and St. Roger. The public may go for Curie, Childstudy and Impetuous. Belmont Handicap The card for the Belmont Handicap is headed by Knollmerc (8.12) and Juggle (8.10), two first-day winners, and they should be capable of getting in the money again to-day. Tobaccoland ran a good race in the open 6print on Thursday and should be all the better for the outing. Atholspear was going on with it at the finish of his race on Thursday and the Belmont distance should suit him. Knollmere, Tobaccoland and Juggle will probably carry the bulk of the money. Trial Handicap Gay Court won handsomely in the maiden event on the first day and should go well again to-day. Seneschal ran a good race on Thursday and is a good sort. Beverage and Gibraltar —the latter a winner at Taranaki will also command respect, while Pomp, St. Roger and Chief Clerk should improve with the race. Gay Court, Seneschal and Gibraltar may carry the bulk of the money. Higgie Handicap

On the first day’s running the public may give most support to tigem, Cessation and Cricket Bat. Moutoa Hack Handicap Landmark won well in the P utlk | Hack, over the same distance. Royal Black should improve on the first day s running, as well as Ben Hur and Kissless. Throo that will be well supported to-day are Royal Black, Ben Hur and Kissless.
