Cheltenham

From Our Own Correspondent. Arbor Day was celebrated recently at the Cheltenham school, when a number of parents attended in the afternoon. Trees planted on former occasions weie attended to and are doing well. In side, a short programme of recitations and songs was presented by the scholars. Afternoon tea concluded an enjoyable celebration. "The school committee recently held a working bee for the purpose of erecting a cycle and saddle shed. This will fill a long-felt want.. A well metalled approach was made from the road to the shod. On Tuesday a basketball match was held between two local teams and two teams from the Apiti school. The day cleared up nicely and the afternoon was fine. Quite a number of parents showed their interest in basketball by attending. Tho local A team won its game 15—o, and the B team was successful by 14 points to nil. The games were fast and well played, the girls putting great vim into their play. After the games Ray Hitchman spoke on behalf of the Apiti girls, while Jean Tapp in replied on behalf of Cheltenham,
