Saturday's Street Day

Attention is drawn to the advertisement on page 1, relating to the special Street Day effort to raise funds, organised by the Central Relief Committee. Everyone can help this community effort either by gifts of produce, etc., or by the purchasing of the many articles that will be on sale. A street stall will be conducted by the ladies of the Red Cross Society, the District Nursing Committee and the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union. The St. Vincent de Paul Society and the Sisters of Mercy will preside over a universal market carried on alongside the old convent in Broadway. Citizens are invited to shop here and partake of afternoon tea at 4d. Badges and flowers will be sold in the streets by teams of young ladies. The Garrison Band will play both afternoon and evening. Given fino weather the financial result should materially assist the Belief Fund.
