OLD BOYS REUNION. A vory successful gathering of old boys took placo on the 13th inst. at Palmerston North, the gathering being in the form of a reunion dinner at which there was an attendance of nearly fjO old boys of the‘College. With the increasing number of old boys resident in tho city of Palmerston North and its environs the efforts of tho local committee consisting of Messrs Kensington, E. Mitchell and C. Plimmor in bringing together these old boys were well rewarded for the gathering was a very enthusiastic one, this being indicated by the presence of old boys from all surrounding districts. The meeting was a very happy one and its institution as an annual affair is assured. The chair was occupied by Mr. 0. U. Piimmer and in addition to the Royal Toast tho following toasts were honoured: — "Tho School,” Mr. A. Campbell; ‘‘Absent Old Boys,” Mr. L. I. Plimmor; ‘‘The Board of Governors and Parents' Association,” Mr. I. Maekcrsoy and responded to by Mr. Alex. P. Smith, the chairman of tho Board of Governors, who had journeyed from Wellington for the occasion. Mr. Smith outlined the recent events in the life of tho College and expressed an optimistic note as to its future, this being exemplified by the fact that the College roll showed a considerable increase over that of last year. Mr. C. McClure, now of Pcilding, and an ex-master of tho College, received a very hearty welcome and his reminiscences wero appreeiatel. During the evening a number of items were rendered by old boys and the company sang ‘‘The Scots Song" and other College songs. The Palmerston North old boys decided to challenge the Wellington old boys for a game of Rugby and it is hoped that the match can be arranged. The following committee were elected to look after the affairs of the Old Boys’ Association in the Manawatu:— Messrs G. Kensington, R. Mitchell and C. U. Plimmor.
